Don't turn 40 - the energy level goes to hell. (Daniel Shoor,
don't tell your father that -- I can still hear Mr. Shoor in the
Birchwood Gym saying, "If you can lie down, you can sit up;
if you can sit, you can stand; if you can stand, you can jog; if
you can jog, you can sprint." I don't need that kind
of positive thinking just now.)

Folks - I've been on the road again.
Deployed for 3 weeks to Israel. Had a good time...we were
able to get a little time off base and I went to the Dead Sea,
Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv, and Bethlehem. What an eye opener
of a pretty messed up country that has probably little chance
to get it together due to all the in fighting. Their governing
body can only meet 3 times a week due to the religious
differences....maybe that's better...but as the center for 3 major
religious...whew what a sticking point.
When I got back, Pops showed up for 2 weeks. (for all you
guys out there...yes, that's that fuzzy little gym teacher you all
had) Took him all around the area...Luxembourg (mainly
Luxembough City), Belgium (Stopped in St Vith to look at
furniture), Netherlands (just a brief swing through Maastricht),
France (3 days in Paris), and around Germany (some local and 3
days in Berlin). Much fun was had by all.
Next week I leave for 2 months in Turkey for Operation
Northern Watch (Saddam's Northern no fly zone). I'll be
watching over the troops there and hopefully fly some missions.
Hope to make it back to the US sometime...as Pops found
out German and Italian Pizza sucks!

Over the beginning of September, I got to connect with a few classmates
over
the Rosh Hashanah including Jeff Goldstein (with fiance Samara) and Amy
Moses. I also saw Rachelle Mont at services (who I see alot through
volleyball). My brother and sister also came home. Eric attended the
wedding of Ed Cummings where he saw many friends including Mike Lee.
Many of
Robyn's close friends were not home but we went to open houses at other
houses in Niskayuna and spoke to more recent grads.
The middle of the month got me back into volleyball...but now in my new
town
of Rochester. I joined 4 teams so far (2 on Monday at Hot Shots, 1 on
Tuesday, and 1 more on Wedensday at the Y.) I've been asked to play on
Fridays and Sundays too but I can't commit to too much more without
leaving
time for my paying job. It is definately nice to start meeting some
locals.
I still go back to Schenectady and catch up with my v'ball friends there
often.
I just got back from my first business trip to Vegas and it was great.
We
stayed at the MGM Grand hotel where it is so big that is took 20 minutes
to
half and hour just to walk from the room to the pool and/or meeting
rooms.
Our company joined the recently formed National Computer Rental
Association
and we now have access to more equipment and service across the entire
US and
Canada. It was a very exciting meeting to connect with other business
owner
in our small field. I'm hoping to visit some of them in the near
future..possibly Chicago and St. Louis. We enjoyed our time there by
seeing
Penn & Teller preform, dancing at Club 54, relaxing at the pool, eating
at
"Quarks" (Star Trek themed restaurant), and touring the Hoover Dam ("the
best
dam tour I've ever had.) Oh yeah...a little slots too.
When I returned to Rochester, my roommate gave me his two week notice as
he
has found a cheaper place to live. So if you or someone you know is
looking
for a place, I am definately looking for someone to fill that spot. For
only
$425 + UTILITIES, I have a huge and spacious apartment only 1 block
from
Park Avenue (a very desirable location.) Non-smoker required. M/F
graduate
or professional desired. Call me at 716-442-8911.

Nisky News'ites,
Hope everyone out there is doing well. The big news for
me is the celebration of my 6th wedding anniversary with
my wife, Julie (Sept. 25th)--it's amazing how time seems to
fly! So much has changed: two daughters (Loren & Erin),
two houses, multiple jobs within Kodak, etc....I've loved
every minute. :-) To celebrate Julie and I will be completing
our latest housing project of safeguarding and decorating the
area around our pool. To date we've erected an aluminum
wrought iron looking fence and planted some 50+ shrubs,
perennials, vines, etc. in and around the area. This weekend
we're going to complete the operation by dispersing 5 cubic
yards of reddish colored stone throughout the plant beds.
Regards,
Paul

Hi everyone--nothing earth-shattering, but
One of the attending physicians in my department (i.e. one of
my bosses), gave a talk in Saratoga, NY, and was taken to
dinner at Eartha's, and met Carolyn Male (i.e. Foxwell) who
runs it....Carolyn somehow remembered where I am and
what I'm doing and mentioned my name to my boss...and
told her to call me "Blit." So now I'm "Blit" again....thanks tons.
Small world.

David and I are now house owners. We bought a place in the South
End and discovered the meaning of the term "money pit." The
contractors and painters have been working for a month. We thought
they would finish before our move date of the 27th but it looks like
we are going to live with them for a while.
We did have some fun this summer travelling through Africa. This trip
we went independantly to Botswana and Namibia. Lots of fun chasing
lions and getting our 4WD truck stuck in 2ft of sand.
